Science Activities

Who AM I?

by
Juanita Diggins, Tucson, Arizona

Description

Copy images and descriptions of insects on cards. Students color the pictures and study the descriptions. They punch holes in the cards and tie strings to form necklaces (idea borrowed from Project Wild). Collect the cards and hang a drawing on the back of each child. Students walk around the room and ask a "yes" or "no" question to their peers to help them identify what arthropod is on their back.

Objectives

Students will familiarize themselves with characteristics of various arthropods by asking "yes" or "no" questions. Theywill learn about various habitats and the arthropods that inhabit them.

Procedures

Evaluation

Teacher observe student's speed at determining which arthropod is on their backs.
